Master Key Mastermind Alliance Week 10 Applied Knowledge – Guest Blogger Larry Carr

I suppose that everyone I know is familiar with the phrase, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” It’s one of those sayings that can be used genuinely or sarcastically – same words, completely different meaning. Context is the determining factor.

Ten weeks have passed since I began this incredible adventure through The Master Key System by George Haanel. Over 250 others who joined in a Master Mind Alliance, being guided by the careful direction of Mark J and Company, have completed our first Trimester of our journey.  I would like to offer my own version of the “time flies” saying:

Time flies when you’re doing something that you believe in.

Let me recap some of the key concepts that we’ve explored to date:

  • The Subconscious makes all the decisions.
  • Mind is cause, condition is effect.
  • The World without reflects the World within.
  • Whatever I think about grows.
  • Thoughts are mental building materials.
  • Concentration is a necessary building skill.
  •  Idealization–Visualization-Realization is the mental building process.
  • Engage the law of Attraction through Earnest Desire-Confident Expectation-Firm Demand.

I have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that this is highly valued knowledge – and the list doesn’t even mention anything that I’ve gleaned from The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino, or other pieces from Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Wooden, Emmett Fox and Napoleon Hill.

The bad news is that knowledge is like paint. It doesn’t do much good until it is applied.

If you prefer, here is Haanel’s version of good news/bad news:

(Bad News) Knowledge will not apply itself. You must make the application. Abundance will not come to you out of the sky, neither will it drop into your lap,…

(Good News) …but a conscious realization of the law of attraction and the intention to bring it into operation for a certain, definite and specific purpose, and the will to carry out this purpose will bring about the materialization of your desire by a natural law of transference.

But the Best News is that, for 10 weeks now, through the disciplines of this Course, I have been learning to apply knowledge!

Do you see why I say, “Time flies when you’re doing something that you believe in”?

Until next week,

Keep the faith.

Master Key Mastermind Alliance Week 9 “Failure is not part of the human destiny.” – Guest Blogger Ryf Van Rij

I would be lying if I said MKMMA has not been challenging. The truth is I am also learning and growing.

I heard this great response at a press release yesterday given by Bishop Tutu regarding Nelson Mandela’s passing and his 27 long years spent in South African prison. Bishop Desmond Tutu is a black South African social rights activist and retired Anglican bishop who rose to worldwide fame during the 1980’s as an opponent of apartheid. Like Mandela he also received a Nobel Peace Prize.

MADIBA-300x225What he said was that the 27 years Mandela spent in jail was not a waste! He said that Mandela had gone to jail as an angry young man. Those 27 years were what he needed to think and become the forgiving, compassionate, gracious, inclusive and magnificent leader he was when he emerged!

Wow!

At times I get frustrated at the apparent slow pace of my journey as I move towards a life of Liberty, Autonomy, Purpose and Service. I question why I’m not reaching more people with my TDWH blog. I question why I am not yet financially independent and self sufficient. I question why I continue to experience relationship challenges and why my weight and health seems to fluctuate.

We never know how many steps are necessary for us to reach our goals. And the prize comes while walking those steps and at the journeys end.

Success could be just around the bend as we journey. If we don’t take the next step regardless as to how we currently may feel we may never realize how close the prize is. All those steps that at times overwhelm us and make us feel hopeless are a completely necessary part of our unfolding journey towards magnificence.

When we are feeling hopeless and overwhelmed the best thing we can do is just take one small step in the same direction. One step at a time is manageable and not overwhelming. We just need to do the next right thing. By doing the next right thing we continue to build the castle of our dreams one block at a time and when the time is right our small daily efforts will bear fruit.

Each failure increases our chance for success at our next attempt. The 20 gallon drum of failure needs to full up before the bucket of success can be filled. We need to fail often to have just one success. We can ride out the storm.

We would be better off eliminating words such as cant, impossible, never, give up and hopeless.

We need to ignore the current distractions and keep our eye on the prize.

Failure is not part of human destiny.

If we persist long enough we will ultimately win.

Roooaaaarrrrrrrr!!!!!!!! lion_roar.jpg

Well my intrepid adventurers our MKMMA journey is almost over. Only a couple more weeks to go before we sail away and continue our lives with our newfound knowledge, strength and self belief. I was considering what I wanted to convey to you in this weeks post and as I was thinking it occurred to me……..I should write about thinking!!!!!

Is your mind full of turbulence….got to’s….should do’s….must be’s…..why not’s…..may be’s?   Are your dreams swamped by waves of self doubt, self pity? No matter how hard you try to think of what you want your life to be like do you feel like a ship tossed at sea?

“…if your mind is like a turbulent ocean, you could throw the Empire State Building into it and you wouldn’t notice a thing.” (Deepak Chopra)

Now, “Imagine throwing a little stone into a still pond and watching it ripple. That’s what you do when you go into silence and introduce your intention. Even the faintest intention ripples across the field of universal consciousness that connects your desire with everything else.” (Deekpa Chopra)

“The average person is entirely innocent of any deep thinking; he accepts the ideas of others, and repeats them, in very much the same way as a parrot; this is readily seen when we understand the method which is used to form public opinion, and the docile attitude on the part of a large majority who seem perfectly willing to let a few persons do all their thinking for them is what enables a few men in a great many countries to usurp all the avenues of power and hold millions in subjection. Creative thinking requires attention.” (Haanel 23:9)

hammer-and-nailOver the last six months I have come to understand the way my brain works and the importance of Silence and thinking about my goals and dreams. Haanel tells us that giving our attention to what we really want takes concentration and will power. As a hammer would be the most appropriate tool to use if I wanted to knock a nail in the wall, so Concentration and Will Power are the tools we need to create habits. Habits create new neural pathways and thoughts. We have probably all tried at some time to make changes in our life, and found ourselves drift back to old habits with a feeling of frustration. We end up saying things like, “I can’t help it, that’s just the way I am.” etc. But the Master Keys has taught me that that is not true; it is only a conditioning of life that we have adopted as true.

woman-funny-faceSome people are very visual learners, some are more auditory and others kinaesthetic. Through a series of exercises designed to bring out each learning style Mark J and his team have taught us how to create the new neural pathways necessary to be able to concentrate our thoughts effectively. Don’t worry, there is no magic, mumbo jumbo or brain washing techniques involved lol. As I have begun to establish new thoughts and habits my life has started to change. I have started to change and the world around me has started to change.

“Each day, when I awake, I follow this plan of battle before I am captured by the forces of sadness, self-pity and failure-

321_Eye_Of_The_TigerIf I feel depressed, I sing. If I feel sad, I laugh. If I feel ill, I double my labour. If I feel fear, I plunge ahead. If I feel inferior, I wear new garments. If I feel uncertain, I raise my voice. If I feel poverty, I think of wealth to come. If I feel incompetent, I remember past success. If I feel insignificant, I remember my goals. Today I am master of my emotions.”

By focusing your Thoughts and Emotions on your desires, you can create the life you want!
